Flylady Baby Steps Day 22

Have you been hesitating from building your control journal?

The control journal that we’re building is like a manual for our homemaking—the journal is where we’ll list and keep track of the routines and habits we’re building.

Don’t Go too Fast!

We won’t be building a control journal overnight. We need to develop a control journal that will work for us and our lifestyle.

Here’s Flylady’s blog post on how to build your very own control journal in 15 steps.

My Control Journal

So far, I’m using a binder for my control journal. I have my pens, pencils, and other accessories in a pencil pouch, my routines and habits that we’re working on in sheet protectors. This way, I can use a dry erase marker to check off my list as I go through it.

I also added extra paper if I need them and the Flylady baby steps we’re working on today.

Set Timer

I’m going to set my timer for 15 minutes to work on my control journal today. Then, I will add dividers to my binder to have sections for my daily routines, weekly plan, inspirational quotes, and emergencies.

I will skip all the way to step five from the Flylady blog post. Step 5 is about the weekly home blessing hour.

I didn’t want to work on my daily routine because I’m already working on the 31 Flylady baby steps. These 31 baby steps help us to put together our routines/habits one day at a time.

The control journal is my starting point. I will continue looking through the blog posts on another day to see what else I can add to my control journal to help me thrive.
