Flylady Baby Steps Day 5 – Make Time for Yourself

Welcome to Flylady Baby Steps Day 5 for getting your home and life in order.

Today, we need to read our post-it notes: get dressed in the morning and have a clean and shiny sink before bed. We’re also going to start a new baby step, which is to be kind to yourself.

Taking care of yourself is so important. So stop running on empty. Make sure you get enough rest at night and take breaks when you feel overwhelmed.

Self Care

I take a couple of breaks during the day. One break is in the morning when I make myself a cup of coffee, and another break is around two to three pm.

I love making myself my favorite cup of tea in the late afternoon. So I can regain my energy for the next half of the day.

You can also try taking a bubble bath at night and read your favorite book that you’ve been meaning to read.

Don’t be Hard on Yourself

Another part of the step is to stop being so hard on yourself. I defiantly need to work on this. I sometimes push myself to get all these homemaking tasks done that I need to learn how to relax and to take it easy.

Flylady wants us to get rid of the negative voices. She wants us to write down the negative thoughts on paper, then change the hurtful words into something positive and uplifting.

New Habit

So the new habit that we’re going to work on is to take care of ourselves by doing something nice for ourselves every day.

Few examples: drink coffee/tea, bubble bath, have a secret hiding spot for your favorite candy bar, or make yourself comfortable and read your favorite book.
