Self Care Baby Step

So far, we have worked very hard on these baby steps. So we need to learn how to celebrate each small accomplishment.

Set aside a little time each week to play! All work and no play makes us crash and burn!” ~FlyLady

We need to pamper ourselves and not just for today. Make it a habit where you take care of yourself every week and maybe even daily.

Schedule “You” Time

So for today’s baby step, I will give you some ideas on how you can pamper yourself.

Don’t worry. Taking a break won’t make your life start crashing down. The house, the dishes, laundry, bathrooms, etc., will still be there waiting for you. They’re not going anywhere, so it’s ok to take a break to take care of you.

  • Make yourself a cup of coffee or your favorite cup of tea and enjoy it. You can either sit comfortably on the couch or sit outside in the sun.
  • Take 15 minutes of your time and relax or take a nap without worrying about what you have on your to-do list.
  • Read your favorite book that you’ve wanted to read.
  • Take a bubble bath or a very hot shower. I love taking a hot shower whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed. I feel like all of my tension, and stress gets washed away whenever I take a hot shower.
  • The next idea is part of our baby steps, and that’s getting dressed to shoes. Put on a cute outfit and do your hair. Whenever I take an extra 15 minutes to get myself ready, I feel so pretty, and even my kids compliment me on my curly hair or my cute outfit.
  • Enjoy the great outdoors. Take a walk, hike, or go on a bike ride. Leave all the tasks behind, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the beautiful scenery.
  • Start a hobby: knitting, sewing, painting, woodworking, putting a puzzle together, etc. Find that one thing that you love to do and put it on your schedule. Or even better, learn something new.
  • Play a board/card game with your family.

I hope these ideas help you feel recharged and ready to go!
