Welcome to Flylady baby steps day 23 for getting your home and life in order.

Flylady Baby Steps Day 23 – Afternoon Routine

Today we need to make a new page in our control journal for our afternoon routine. The afternoon routine needs to work for your family.

I’m a stay-at-home mom, and my afternoon routine might look very different from yours.

The secret to making a routine is to make sure you write it down and start building your new habits by working on one habit/step at a time.

It’s ok if you don’t get everything done on your list.

2 Afternoon Routines

I’ll be making two different afternoon routines. An early afternoon routine (around noon) will include:

  • 5 Minute Room Rescue(Toy pick up in the living room)
  • Lunch
  • Lunch Clean Up
  • Fold and Put Away Laundry
  • Declutter
  • Workout
  • 15-minute break

I’ll be moving my workout to the afternoon, so I can work in the morning while my kids are sleeping.

Late Afternoon (Around 3 pm)

I’m also going to have a late afternoon routine that will include:

  • Unload Dishwasher(if needed)
  • Snack
  • Snack Clean Up
  • Start Preparing Dinner

I included unloading the dishwasher before dinner because it is easier to clean as you cook when the dishwasher is empty.

Final Thoughts

Those will be my two-afternoon routines that I’ll be working on to make my life a little easier.

If I get overwhelmed, I might cut the list down to 2 or 3 most important things that I need to get done in that block time, and anything else will be a bonus.
